White Nights marathon
The stunning sights of St. Petersburg, historical landmarks and a memorable running adventure are all part of the legendary 32nd White Nights marathon.
The marathon and 10 km run will start from Petrovskaya Naberezhnaya and finish at the Palace Square. The revamped style of the marathon was inspired by the sphinxes and bronze lions of St. Petersburg which runners will pass on their way to the finish line.
The start of the marathon is scheduled for 22:00 and will take place during a white night after which it is named.

From 15 June to 31 August 2023, the State Sports Museum of St. Petersburg will host a unique Olympic Games in Artifacts exhibition. The SPIEF Sport Games will be the starting point for the new Ladoga Gold cycling race.
Cyclists from over ten countries together with the strongest riders of Russia will start the stage race.
It is an ambitious project of the Russian Cycling Federation and the sports platform of the Roscongress Foundation – RC Sport, carried out with the support of the Ministry of Sport.
The sports part of the cycling race is inseparably connected with the goal of showing the beauty of nature and the historical heritage of Ladoga, which will create an incredible environment for the participants.
The presentation of the stage race will take place at the stand of the Ministry of Sport with the participation of the Minister of Sport of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin / Deputy Minister of Sport of the Russian Federation Odes Baysultanov.
The seven-day race will be held from 12 to 20 July in the Republic of Karelia and the Leningrad Region.

Gazprom Neft and Roscongress are organizing one of the most spectacular sports venues at SPIEF – the Leaders’ Energy Badminton Tournament. For the first time, the SPIEF sports programme includes the Clean Games, a team competition aimed at cleaning up green spaces. Participants compete to collect and sort litter, with the chance to win prizes.
Forum participants will step outside the conference halls and engage in a joint environmental volunteering experience, thereby demonstrating their dedication to taking tangible steps towards environmental stewardship.

Simultaneous chess match with a Grandmaster using artificial intelligence
For the first time at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, there will be a simultaneous chess match using artificial intelligence.
Renowned grandmasters Sergey Karjakin and Teimour Radjabov will be challenged by 12 Forum participants, assisted by the newly developed Russian software Mendeleev Chess. Under the rules of the match, the software will guide Forum participants through every second move.
The programme, created by Karjakin and Radjabov, was created under the umbrella of Innopraktika and is powered by artificial intelligence.
The event will be held in compliance with all COVID-19 prevention measures.

One of the most titled clubs in Europe and Russia, Yawara-Neva, alongside Lokomotiv, will meet foreign clubs from friendly countries on the tatami. The festival will also set a world record for flying the world's biggest kite.
This year's music, sports and gastronomy festival will get a new twist. For the first time, it will combine its programme with a historical reconstruction of the Peter the Great Festival.
Themed reenactment areas will introduce adults and children to the history of the birth of the navy and shipbuilding, present folk theatre of the 18th century, and offer masterclasses in calligraphy, blacksmithing, foundry work, and old Russian cooking. There will also be a thematic market with handmade souvenirs and toys from local crafts producers.
Admission to the festival is free.
