Consolidation of Professional Communities through the Championship Movement as a Factor for Sustainable Regional Economic Development

The Labour Market: A Response to the New Challenges
Pavilion F, conference hall F3

Today, the key factor for regional economic development and the establishment of Russia's technological sovereignty lies in the interaction between business as a professional community and the education system. By creating new collaborative avenues between the government, enterprises, and educational organizations, new technological standards that will benefit the Russian economy can be established. Business funding for education primarily serves as an investment in the long-term growth of companies, contributing to the sustainable development of regional and national economies. Such investments lead to the formation of a motivated student community, dedicated to increasing domestic production and fostering economic development within their respective regions. Consequently, this will help curb the outflow of migration from areas centred around industrial production. The All-Russian Vocational Skills Championship Movement serves as a platform where business requests are shaped in accordance with the most dynamic and promising areas that are in demand in high-tech production and the digital economy. The Championship Movement has proven to be an effective mechanism for engaging businesses within the education system. Since the beginning of 2023, businesses have already invested approximately 1.2 billion rubles. 9 Russian regions, 1,612 colleges, over 120,000 competitors, and around 5,500 industrial partners have joined the Championship Movement.
