National Convention Bureau Association takes part in the VII Asia + Europe Event Forum 2018 (EFEA)

The VII Europe + Asia Event Forum (EFEA) has kicked off in St. Petersburg. The key players on the event market and representatives of Russian and foreign event management companies have arrived in the northern capital of Russia to take part in the Forum.

On 18 January 2018, Roscongress Foundation CEO Alexander Stuglev addressed the Forum participants at a formal opening ceremony. In his opening remarks, Mr. Stuglev stressed that the business tourism industry was developing rapidly. The Roscongress Foundation CEO also noted that the National Convention Bureau Association was set up in Russia in 2017, with Roscongress Foundation as one of its founders.

The Association is a partner of the Forum. The head of the NCBA delegation, Association CEO Alexei Kalachev said: “One of the key goals of the NCB’s participation in the Forum is to present the market’s major players with the opportunities and terms of membership in the Association. At the Asia + Europe Event Forum in St Petersburg, the National Convention Bureau has produced a programme of events to be held in 2018. Details about the organization’s activities are presented at the Association’s stand at the Event Expo.”

During the Asia + Europe Event Forum, the members of the Association’s delegation will take part in the Forum’s business events and sessions, and they will also hold over 100 meetings with EFEA participants and guests at the Business Contacts Exchange.

The National Convention Bureau Association is a partner of the session of the VII Asia + Europe Event Forum devoted to problems of creating a competitive national brand and the role of events in promoting the destination.

On 18 January, National Convention Bureau Association CEO Alexei Kalachev  took part in the panel session of EFEA. He spoke about the opportunities for Russia’s promotion on public/private partnership terms and also elaborated on the Association’s goals as part of such cooperation.

On 19 January, the final day of EFEA, the National Convention Bureau Association will invite representatives of regional and foreign convention bureaux, as well as companies involved in developing this industry, to a Business Breakfast. The Bashkortostan Convention Bureau, the Saint Petersburg Convention Bureau, the Black Sea Convention Bureau, the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) and some others have already confirmed that they will be participating.

“The results of the National Convention Bureau Association at the Asia + Europe Event Forum will be considered when shaping the marketing strategy for developing Russia’s events industry and promoting its players abroad”, commented National Convention Bureau Association CEO Alexei Kalachev. “As we could see from our participation in the industry events, the activities of the National Convention Bureau are triggering a great deal of interest among market participants. We hope that, at the EFEA, we will not only effectively present our opportunities and plans for 2018, but will also discuss the prospects for cooperation and exchange of experience with our foreign colleagues.”
