Date Announced for 4th ‘Ensuring Drug Security’ Russian Pharmaceutical Forum
The 4th
‘Ensuring Drug Security’ Russian Pharmaceutical Forum will take place on 5 June
2024 on the opening day of the 27th St. Petersburg International
Economic Forum.
The event is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Russian Ministry of Health and the Subcommittee on the Circulation of Medicines and the Development of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Industry of the Health Protection Committee of the Russian State Duma.
“The ‘Ensuring Drug Security’ Russian Pharmaceutical Forum will take place for the fourth time. Over these four years, the industry has undergone enormous changes: with the full support of the state, it has not only been able to withstand and cope with global challenges, but also demonstrated significant development. The import substitution policy has been considerably strengthened, and innovative domestic drugs are actively being developed. At present, our country’s citizens are being provided with effective medicines in full. The ‘Ensuring Drug Security’ Forum is a key platform for presenting the industry’s achievements, strengthening interaction among all stakeholders, and working out a plan for further development,” Adviser to the Russian President Anton Kobyakov said.
Industry experts and representatives of ministries, agencies, the media, as well as industry, business, and public organizations will get together to address such issues as: the main focuses of the pharmaceutical industry’s development in 2024; the new realities and ways to achieve medicinal sovereignty; benchmarks for substituting imports of high-tech medicines; modern challenges facing the dietary supplement industry and ways to resolve them; barriers and unique approaches to the development of aesthetic medicine and the cosmetic industry; current and future trends for the development of clinical research in Russia and abroad; key aspects of and potential opportunities for the development of long-term productive cooperation in the healthcare sector and the foreign trade of pharmaceutical and medical products in BRICS countries, and other key issues.
Based on Russia’s current chairmanship of BRICS, much of the event’s business programme will focus on the intensification of long-term productive cooperation between BRICS countries in healthcare and the development of high technologies and the pharmaceutical industry.
