Programme

This year is set to be a special year in many respects. It is hoped that 2017 will provide solutions for overcoming various obstacles which have arisen in recent times. But big business has no intention of passively watching events unfold; instead, it is working on a positive agenda, actively helping to stabilize the situation and normalize economic collaboration. It is in this area that Italian and Russian companies, which have many years’ experience of partnership and mutual trust, can set an example. A roundtable devoted to Italian–Russian cooperation is the perfect platform for dialogue on this subject. The event will bring together captains of industry from key sectors such as energy and finance or advanced technology and agriculture. Support for the efforts of big business from political leaders and entrepreneurial organizations could play a key role in the success of ongoing dialogue.

Alexey Bobrovsky was born on 15 August 1981. In 2002, he graduated from the Journalism Department of the Modern University for the Humanities in Moscow. He has worked as reporter and host on the TV-Centre Channel, Channel 1, Radio Station Business-FM. Since 2009, he has authored and presented the Kurs Dnya [Daily Rate of Exchange] on the Russia-24 TV Channel, Head of the Channel’s Service of Economic News. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Internet site Vestifinance.ru. Since 2016, he has been General Producer of Vestfinance Forum – a new interactive platform, featuring Andrey Klepach, Boris Titov, Alexander Novak, Ksenia Yudaeva and other authoritative economic experts.

Alessandro Decio

Chief Executive Officer, General Manager, SACE SpA

Alessandro Decio is the CEO of SACE. He started his career at IMI Capital Markets in London, where he worked for over five years at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, after a MBA at Insead and an experience with McKinsey. He subsequently joined UniCredit to support the Group's international development. He led the banks of UniCredit Group in Croatia, Bulgaria and Turkey before returning to Milan in 2010, taking responsibility for the Global Head of Retail. In 2012 he became Chief Risk Officer of the Group, a member of the CEO Office and the Executive Management Committee. In March 2016 he came into ING Bank Italy, in the position of CEO, and in June 2016 he joined SACE, the new “Italian Export and Internationalization Hub” integrating and strengthening the insurance-financial activities dedicated to support the exports and international growth of Italian companies, according to the 2016-2020 business plan of the CDP Group.

Carlo Calenda

Minister of Economic Development of Italy

Carlo Calenda is Minister of Economic Development since May 2016 Born in 1973 in Rome, married, father of 4 children. He graduated in Law at the University of Rome. Ministerial career: in May 2013 he was appointed Deputy Minister in charge of international trade and trade promotion policies. He was confirmed as Deputy Minister in February 2014. His responsibilities included: EU trade policy, multilateral affairs, OECD & G20 trade-related matters, bilateral trade relations, trade promotion and inward investment, export finance and credit, support to investment projects abroad. Diplomatic career: from March to May 2016 he served as Permanent Representative of Italy to the European Union. Professional career: from 2008 until 2013 he served as Chief Executive Officer at Interporto Campano. From 2004 to 2008 he worked in Confindustria, the Italian Industrial Association, as responsible for international affairs, and then Director of the strategic business area. Before joining Confindustria, he was responsible for product marketing and programming for SkyItalia and he also served as responsible for relationship with financial institutions and for customer relationship management at Ferrari.

Paolo Clerici

Chairman of the Board of Directors, CEO, Coeclerici SpA

Paolo Clerici, born in Genoa in 1945, married with two children. After studying in Italy and Switzerland he joined the Coeclerici Group – at that time called Coe & Clerici – in 1967, starting with oil products trading and working up to an executive position in 1972 with his appointment as CEO and Managing Director of some minor Group companies. He left Coeclerici in 1976 and set up his own companies first SAIF, acting inter alia as agent of Thyssen Carbometal Inc. and Koch Carbon. He sold his shares in SAIF to his business partner Franco Zucchi and in 1980 started a new company Compagnia Mercantile Internazionale active in importing coal, scrap metal, chemical and food products. He went back to the Group in 1983 as CEO of SIRCO Trading S.p.A. (joint venture between Sears World Trade Inc., IRI and Coe & Clerici). He was also appointed member of the Board of Directors and of the Executive Committee of Coe & Clerici SpA. In 1986 he was appointed Managing Director and one year later Deputy Chairman of the holding company, Coeclerici SpA. Paolo Clerici is the prime mover behind the international expansion of the Group, of which he has become Chairman in 1992. Since 2001, after the conclusion of his second mandate as President of the Italian Ship-owners Association (Confitarma) 1997-2001, Paolo Clerici has decided to concentrate full time on the Coeclerici Group. In June 2003 he was conferred the insignia of Cavaliere del Lavoro (Knight of Labor) by Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, President of the Italian Republic.

Mikhail Kusnirovich

Mikhail Kusnirovich was born on October 3, 1966. In 1989, he graduated from the Moscow Chemical Technical College. After that worked for IMA-Press publishing house. In 1991, he established Moscow International House "East and West", and opened the first store in the Petrovsky Passage in Moscow in 1992. Bosco di Ciliegi owns over 200 monobrand fashion stores, multibrand BOSCOFAMILY, watch and jewelry stores Sublime by BOSCO, makeup and perfume stores ARTICOLI by BOSCO as well as cafes, restaurants and beauty salons. He is actively involved in cultural and educational work along with business activity. He funds art exhibitions, helps well-known music bands and Moscow theaters.

Gaetano Micciche

Miccichè has been chairman of Banca IMI since April 2016. He previously was General Manager and member of the Management Board of Intesa Sanpaolo. He served as Head of Corporate and Investment Banking Division of Intesa Sanpaolo from January 2007 to April 2016, and Chief Executive Officer of Banca IMI from October 2007 to March 2015. A university graduate in law, Miccichè earned an MBA with honours from SDA Bocconi in 1984, and was awarded the Master of Masters by the SDA Bocconi - Master Alumni Association in December 2008. His professional career began in February 1971 at the Cassa Centrale di Risparmio delle Province Siciliane, where he became Head of Corporate Clients. In April 1989, he joined Rodriquez S.p.A. as Chief Financial Officer. In November 1992, he took the position of General Manager of Gerolimich - Unione Manifatture, and later served as the company's Liquidating Administrator. In January 1996, he was appointed General Manager of Santa Valeria S.p.A., and in October 1997, he became Managing Director and General Manager of Olcese S.p.A. In June 2002, he joined Banca Intesa. His previous positions also include member of the Boards of Alitalia, Prada, Pirelli, Telecom. He is currently a member of the RCS S.p.A. board of directors, a member of the board of the Italian Banking Association (ABI), and a member of the Scientific Committee of the Milan Politecnico. On 31 May 2013, he was appointed ‘Cavaliere del Lavoro’ by the President of the Republic of Italy, Giorgio Napolitano.

Cesare Maria Ragaglini

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic in the Russian Federation

Since September 2013 he’s been appointed Ambassador of Italy to the Russian Federation. From July 2009 until September 2013 he was Permanent Representative of Italy to the United Nations in New York. In 2006 he was bestowed the rank of “Grand Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic”. In November 2006 he was the Foreign Ministry’s Director-General for the Mediterranean and the Middle East. In 2004 he was appointed the Prime Minister’s Representative to the G8 Summit (Sherpa) and was in charge of preparations for the Gleneagles and Saint Petersburg Summits. From 2002 to 2004 he was Chef de Cabinet to the Foreign Minister, a position he took up after serving as the Prime Minister’s Representative for the Balkans in 2001. From 1999 to 2002 he was Deputy Diplomatic Adviser to the Prime Minister. From 1996 to 1999 his overseas service also included appointments as Head of the Italian diplomatic mission in Baghdad, Iraq. In 1992 he was named Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Italy in New Delhi, India, where he served until 1995. From 1989 to 1992 he was Director of the Foreign Ministry’s Intelligence Unit. First Secretary at Italy’s Embassy in Ottawa, Canada, between 1984 and 1987; and Consul in Tehran, Iran, from 1981 to 1984. Joined the Foreign Service on 4 May 1978. Graduated in International Relations at the “Université Libre de Bruxelles” in 1975 and in Political Sciences, with an international focus, at the “Cesare Alfieri” Faculty of the University of Florence in 1976. Born in Massa (Italy) on 6 February 1953.

Francesco Starace

Chief Executive Officer, General Manager, Enel S.p.A

Francesco Starace was appointed Group Chief Executive of Enel SpA in May 2014. Mr. Starace joined Enel in 2000, holding several executive positions including Head of Business Power (from July 2002 to October 2005) and Managing Director of the Market Division (from November 2005 to September 2008). Between 2008 and 2014, he was Chief Executive Officer of Enel Green Power, the Group’s renewable power generation subsidiary and a leading player in the global renewables industry. In November 2010, Mr. Starace led the Initial Public Offering (IPO) of the business, floating it on the Milan and Madrid stock exchanges with a market capitalization of €8 billion. Mr. Starace began his career in construction management of power generation plants, first at General Electric Group and then at ABB Group and subsequently Alstom Power Corporation, where he was appointed Head of worldwide gas turbines sales. Mr. Starace’s international experience includes periods spent living in the United States, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Bulgaria. In May 2015, he was appointed to the Board of Directors of the United Nations Global Compact. Since June 2014, he is also a member of the Advisory Board of the United Nations Sustainable Energy 4 All initiative. He graduated with a degree in Nuclear Engineering from the Milan Polytechnic.

Marco Tronchetti Provera

Degree in Economics and Business Administration from Bocconi University of Milan, 1971. Developed sea transport business for family company beginning in the early seventies. Entered Pirelli in 1986. Took over operational leadership of the Group in 1992. Chairman of “Il Sole 24 Ore” from December 1996 to September 2001 and Board Member of “Teatro alla Scala” from October 2001 to September 2005. Chairman of Telecom Italia S.p.A. from September 2001 to September 2006. Up to May 2013 he was Chairman of Prelios S.p.A.. Currently Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Pirelli & C. S.p.A. and Chairman of Marco Tronchetti Provera & C. S.p.A., a holding which he controls and through which indirectly controls Camfin S.p.A. which in turn indirectly holds 22.4% of Pirelli & C. S.p.A. Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mediobanca – Banca di Credito Finanziario S.p.A.. Honorary Co-Chairman for the Italian branch of the Council for the United States and Italy, of which he was Italian Co-Chairman for 15 years, and Member of the Italian Group of the Trilateral Commission. His is also Co-Chairman of the Italy-China Business Forum. Member of the Steering Committee of Assonime and of Assolombarda, of the Steering Committee and of the Executive Committee of Confindustria. Antonio Fallico

President, Conoscere Eurasia Association; Chairman, Board of Directors, Banca Intesa

Born in 1945 in Bronte (Italy). In 1964 graduated from a classic lyceum. In 1969, first graduated from faculty of Philology, and later in Economics and Commerce at University of Catania. From 1970 to 1989 he gave lectures at the Faculty of Economics and Commerce at Verona University. In 1995 he was accredited by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation as a Head of Moscow office of Banco Ambrosiano Veneto, which preceded Banca Intesa S.p.A. (today – the Intesa Sanpaolo Group). Since 2003 he is a President of the Banca Intesa Russia. From 2004 until 2008 was elected as a President of the Association of Italian Entrepreneurs “GIM-Unimpresa”, which includes about 150 Italian companies operating in Russia. He was awarded the Order of Friendship (Russian Federation, 2008), Star of Merit for Labour (Italian Republic, 2006) and by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the Badge of Horner “for his valuable contribution to international collaboration” (2015). In 2007, he founded the association in Verona "Conoscere Eurasia" public, non-profit organization with the aim of developing and deepening cultural, social and economic relations between Italy and the Eurasian countries. In 2008 he received the honorary title of Doctor of Science conferred by the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics In May 2008 was appointed as an Honorary Consul of the Russian Federation in Verona. In 2012 was appointed as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the first Russian-Italian private equity fund MIR Capital, established by Intesa Sanpaolo and Gazprombank. Speaks Russian, English and French. Married, has a son.

Sergei Chemezov

Born on August 20, 1952, in Irkutsk Oblast. In 1975, Chemezov graduated with honors from the Irkutsk Institute of National Economics. He also completed the Higher Courses of the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces. 1980-1988: Experimental-industrial association Luch. 1988-1996: Deputy CEO of the Foreign Trade Association Sovintersport. 1996-1999: Head of the Foreign Economic Relations Department for the Russian Presidential Administration. 1999-2001: CEO of Promexport. 2001-2007: First Deputy CEO of Rosoboronexport. 2004-2007: CEO of Rosoboronexport. 2007-present: CEO of the State corporation Rostec. Sergey Chemezov is Сhairman of the board of directors of a number of large Russian companies: VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation, KAMAZ, Rosobornexport, Uralkalii, Almaz-Antey. He serves on the board of directors of: AvtoVAZ, where he is Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors, United Aircraft Corporation, AKB International Financial Club, Aeroflot-Russian Airlines, Alliance Rostec Auto B.V. He is a member of the supervisory board of United Rocket and Space Corporation, Chairman of the All-Russian Public Organization - Russian Engineering Union, as well as President of the All-Russian Industrial Association of Employers - Russian Engineering Union. Married, with three sons and a daughter.

Alexander Shokhin

Alexander N. Shokhin was born 25 December, 1951. Graduated from the Moscow State University in 1974. Doctor of Economics, Professor. Twice, in 1991-1994 and in 1998, Mr. Shokhin held the post of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. In 1991-1994 he also held positions of Minister of Labor, Minister of Economics, Chairman of the Russian Agency for International Cooperation and Development. From 1994 to 2002 – Deputy of the State Duma, with the posts of First Vice Chairman of the State Duma, leader of the Duma party bloc 'Our Home is Russia', Head of the Duma Committee on Credit Institutions and Capital Markets. Since 1995 - President of the National Research University – Higher School of Economics. From 2002 to 2006 – Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Investment Group "Renaissance Capital". From 2005 to 2009 – member of the RF Public Chamber. Since 2005 – President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. Mr. Shokhin is a member of several deliberative bodies under the Russian President and Government. He is also an independent director on the Boards of several companies, including ALROSA, Russian Railways, TMK and others.
