The Conquest of the Russian Arctic. Yakov Khalip, Heir to the Russian Avant-Garde
A photography exhibition about past and present Arctic research in Russia.
The exhibition will be based around a unique photo essay shot by the famous Russian photographer Yakov Khalip during a 1938 expedition to rescue Ivan Papanin’s crew from the first drifting station in the world, North Pole-1. Forum participants who visit the exhibition will also be able to learn about Russia’s current achievements in Arctic exploration.
The exhibition is located in the ground-floor lobby of the Congress Centre.
Russian Industry photo exhibition
The exhibition showcases a vast array of industrial activities taking place across Russia, introducing the business community to the everyday life of Russian factories and plants, as well as a range of industry-specific professions. Forum visitors will be given a fascinating and diverse insight into Russian industry.

Exhibition of paintings by Fyodor Konyukhov
The venue of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will also host a presentation of unique projects by the Fyodor Konyukhov Green Planet Charitable Foundation and expeditions under preparation by this well-known Russian traveller and researcher.
The picture exhibition is located in the Gallery at the Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Centre, opposite pavilion Н (3).
Opening ceremony for the Italy in Russia pavilion
The following will give welcome speeches at the pavilion opening ceremony:

Charity inclusive theatre production: A Completely Unexpected Event. Marriage.
This performance, featuring professional actors and disabled artistes, and initiated by So-edinenie, a support fund for deaf-blind people, is being staged with the help of the Roscongress Foundation and the Theatre of Nations.
The venue will be the Turner Scientific Research Institute for Children’s Orthopaedics, for young patients with musculoskeletal disorders. The show’s creators hope that the performance will give hope to differently abled children, helping them to overcome their fears and become confident in their strengths.

Vladimir Vasiliev. Dance and Destiny exhibition
The opening of an exhibition dedicated to People’s Artist of the USSR and international ballet legend Vladimir Vasiliev. The Concert Choir of St. Petersburg under the direction of Honoured Artist of Russia Vladimir Begletsov will perform at the event. The maestro of Russian culture and art will open the event himself.
The programme schedule will include a tour of the Yusupov Palace.

Guided tour of the Presidential Library: Blending the Past with the Future
The library is located in the heart of St. Petersburg on Senatskaya Square, opposite the Bronze Horseman. Visitors are offered a unique opportunity to see the restored interiors of the Holy Synod, designed by Carlo Rossi, examine the exposition devoted to the building’s history and touch unique documents from the stock of Russia’s first national electronic library.

The Yubileyny Sports Palace will host M-1 Challenge 68, an international mixed martial arts event.
Heading the bill will be the M-1 Grand Prix middleweight final, a rematch between Russian star Alexander Shlemenko (Rusfighters, Storm School of Martial Arts) and Vyacheslav Vasilevsky (Fightspirit), an ex M-1 Challenge champion in two weight classes.
The undercard includes an M-1 Challenge heavyweight fight in which Alexander ‘Drago’ Volkov (Strela Promotion) will defend his title against ex Bellator champion Attila Vegh (MMA Spirit), and a middleweight clash between Valery Myasnikov (Fight Club Number 1) and Spain’s Enoc Solves Torres.

Awards ceremony for the winners of the 2016 Ust-Luga Cup International Baltic Regatta
The event is preceded by a parade of sails, during which the yacht race participants, with dressing flags hoisted, will pass along the Neva embankments and line up at Zayachy Island. A festive concert will close the ceremony.

I Love You, Peter's Great Creation...
The première of a two-act ballet by the American choreographer Lar Lubovitch based on the narrative poem The Bronze Horseman. The choreographer, inspired by Pushkin’s work, says he has tried to create a fitting tribute to the brilliant Russian poet and the beauty of the country’s northern capital. Lubovitch tells the tragic story of Pushkin’s characters through the language of contemporary choreography.
BARYSHNIKOV BY ME. ROBERT WHITMAN photo exhibition
The grand opening of a photo exhibition to mark the gallery’s tenth anniversary.
For the first time, the public will have the chance to see rare photographs of renowned ballet dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov taken by the well-known New York photographer Robert Whitman over the course of 30 years. Unique shots from rehearsals, fashion photo shoots, and ironic snapshots taken at home fully reveal the multifaceted personality of this legendary artist.
