08 Jun , 10:00–11:15
BRICS Creative Business Forum
pavilion G, conference hall G7

Russian society and state are faced with the important task of preserving the country’s tangible cultural heritage, including ancient buildings, estates, churches, as the visible embodiment of the national identity and the inextricable connection of generations. Culture and heritage are a driver of the development of modern territories and cities that are located far from urban metropolises and an important resource for the investment potential of Russia’s regions. Not only do they contribute to the preservation of historical values and the passing on of the cultural code, but they also stimulate economic development in the regions. Investing in cultural capital helps create new jobs, develop tourism, and increase economic activity. How can the efforts of government, business, professional communities, and the civil and private sectors be pooled to preserve cultural heritage? What factors are holding back the capitalization of cultural heritage objects? What examples of the revitalization of cultural heritage objects exist today? What role do digital technologies and platforms play in preserving and promoting Russia’s cultural heritage?
