Biomedical Science as a Key Factor in Achieving National Security

16 Jun , 10:30–11:30
Building Technological Sovereignty
Pavilion G, conference hall G5

To achieve national security, one of the most important tasks is to ensure technological independence in strategically important areas. This includes bio- and neurotechnologies, genetics, vaccine development, drug production technologies, innovative biomedical equipment, development of artificial intelligence and digitalization of the medical industry. In the face of these challenges, it is not only necessary to develop science proactively as a factor in achieving technological sovereignty, but also to convert new scientific knowledge into innovative products in a timely manner. In Russia, the Priority 2030 and Medical Science for Humanity programmes make it possible to put the latest technologies into practice, in order to develop scientific and technological potential. Today, key priorities include the creation of personalized biomedical technologies and technological platforms, as well as attracting talented young specialists to science. How can maximum synergy between science, government and business be achieved to ensure technological sovereignty? What state support can the biomedical sciences count on? What innovative technologies and products will be available to the general public? Under current conditions, what principles will scientific and technological cooperation be based on?
