15 Jun , 09:00–10:15
Protecting the Population and Quality of Life as the Main Priority
Pavilion H, conference hall H23 (2nd floor)

Support for the non-profit sector, charity and volunteering has become a significant part of the government agenda in recent years. This creates favourable conditions for development of the sector. It is also playing a particularly important role in challenging external circumstances. During such times, people become more involved in charitable activities and volunteering, more funds are raised, the non-profit sector is strengthened, and the market for social services is developing on a competitive basis. The contribution to the economy made by Russia’s non-profit organizations has grown 2.5 times over the last four years, reaching 1.5% of GDP (about RUB 2 trillion), according to 2022 data. How and why should the contribution made by the non-profit sector, charity and volunteering to the country’s economy be assessed? What trends can be observed in the non-profit sector’s development? What impact will the assessment have on the work of non-profit organizations? How can the government encourage the non-profit sector to enhance its contribution to the country's economy?
