Sergei Prikhodko has held a meeting of the Organizing Committee of the 20th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum

Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of Staff of the Government Sergei Prikhodko on March 29 chaired a meeting of the Organizing Committee of the 20th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Issues discussed during the meeting included preparations for the 20th anniversary of the Forum, which will be held at a new venue – ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre, as well as the programme and main events on the sidelines of SPIEF 2016.

It was noted during the meeting that the Forum’s theme this year will be ‘Capitalizing on the New Global Economic Reality’. The SPIEF programme is expected to include five main pillars: ‘Stimulating Demand, Seeking Growth’, ‘Realizing the Economic Potential of Russia’, ‘The New Geo-economic Dynamics’, ‘Navigating Revolutions in Technology’, and ‘The Human Dimension’.

Business roundtables, a series of Conversations with the Extraordinary, and a Valdai Club Session traditionally take place as part of the Forum. Events proposed for the SPIEF 2016 sidelines include the G20 Business Forum, the Russian Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Forum, the SCO Business Forum, and the Conference for the Sustainable Development of the Arctic.

The programme will be posted on the Forum’s official website within the next week.
The next meeting of the Organizing Committee is planned for May 2016 in St. Petersburg.

The 20th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will take place at the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre on June 16–18, 2016.
