Mercedes-Benz Presents New Electric Vehicle at SPIEF

At St. Petersburg International Economic Forum Mercedes-Benz made a present to all those who admire German cars and green technology. The new EQC – a four-wheel drive electric car – premiered for the Russian public. It is the first model of the EQ series, the automotive giant’s electric brand, where EQ stands for ‘Electric Intelligence’.

Mercedes-Benz EQC was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in autumn 2018. The vehicle is equipped with an innovative high-voltage battery that keeps the engine running for over 450 kilometres. The battery can be charged using an AC circuit, both at home and at public charging stations.

“Mercedes-Benz is a long-standing partner of SPIEF. The participants of the Forum appreciate the comfort of these cars. We are happy that this year they will have a chance to see the Mercedes-Benz’s new innovative car,” emphasized Alexander Stuglev, CEO of the Roscongress Foundation. He also hoped that the next-generation environmentally friendly cars will go into production at the German concern’s factory that was opened in Moscow Region in late May 2019.

“2019 is an anniversary year in the Russian history of Mercedes-Benz: it has been 125 years since the first car – Benz Velo – appeared in Russia. Traditions are of utmost importance for us, and one of those traditions is providing the Forum participants with comfortable and safe transfer, as well as greeting our guests at the S-Lounge,” emphasized Jan K. Madeja, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Russia.
