Aksyonov discusses Italian business leaders’ visit to Crimea

The visit of an Italian delegation opens up new development prospects for the Crimean region, said Head of the Republic Sergey Aksyonov.

“The Italian delegation includes many business leaders representing various different areas of activity. The prospects are very significant. We are confident that this visit from our friends and colleagues will lead to a breakthrough”, Aksyonov told journalists.

Mr. Aksyonov said that Crimea is ready to offer foreign business leaders investment opportunities in the region. “I am sure that this won’t be the delegation’s last visit to Crimea. This begins a new chapter in our relations”, he commented.

A large delegation of regional council deputies and representatives of Italy’s business community is paying a three-day visit to Crimea. They have a full programme: meetings with top officials from the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, agreement signings, business discussions, and an introduction to the work of enterprises and existing business projects in Crimea. The 18-strong delegation included representatives from five regions of Italy: Veneto, Liguria, Lombardy, Tuscany, and Emilia-Romagna.
