Fedor Chudinov WBA Gold in Super-Middleweight will face South Africa’s Ryno Liebenberg on 4 June in St. Petersburg. Their meeting will be the main event during the evening of professional boxing at Sibur Arena, which will be held for the first time as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Ceremonial weigh-ins and a staredown between the athletes will take place on 3 June at the Roscongress Club Main Lounge at the SPIEF venue.
Fedor Chudinov has won 23 out of 26 fights in the professional ring, including 16 by knockout. Chudinov's previous fight against Malawian Isaac Chilemba in February 2021 ended in a draw. Liebenberg defeated Rowan Campbell early this March in a fight for the South African title and a number of regional WBA and IBO belts.
In the co-headlining fight, the WBA Gold Super-flyweight champion and Russian Olympic medalist Mikhail Aloyan (5-1) will enter the ring for the first time since December 2019. The Russian athlete will face another boxer from South Africa, Lyndale Chemesi. Russian Khariton Agrba (5-0), the silver medalist of the 2019 European Games, will make his sixth fight in the professional ring and will face former WBA regular champion Rene Alvarado (32-9) of Nicaragua in a 10-round bout in welterweight. Ilya Popov, winner of the 2018 Youth Olympics, and Ruslan Kolesnikov, silver medalist at the 2018 Youth Olympics, will make their professional ring debuts.
