Programme

In August 2017 launched a programme to increase efficiency and productivity in Russian manufacturing. Under the programme, the state will be able to support businesses in the manufacturing sector with regard to industrial technology and production efficiency, the removal of administrative barriers, training and professional development, working in association with banks, and also digitalization/automation. The aim of the programme is to achieve a significant increase in productivity and efficiency. German businesses, many of which are medium-sized, are world leaders with regard to efficiency in the manufacturing sector and labour productivity. So these businesses have a keen interest in cooperating as suppliers of systems and technology, consultants, and partners in manufacturing and logistics. On the Russian side there is particular interest in working together with German businesses to share experience, use technology to increase productivity, upgrade industrial equipment, streamline the process in the overall production chain, and provide training, professional development, and Digitalization and Industry 4.0. New challenges for bilateral cooperation against the background of an increasingly unclear sanctions policy. How can we expand cooperation and increase efficiency and productivity? Ways of bringing Russian suppliers into global supply networks and increasing exports in the Russian economy. What are the prospects for cooperation with regard to the digital economy and innovation in manufacturing?

Klaus Mangold was born on June 6, 1943. After graduating from high school he studied law and economics at the universities of Munich, Geneva, London, Heidelberg and Mainz.
He held various positions in German industry prior to being a Management Board member and Chairman of the Management Board of Rhodia AG, a subsidiary of the French group Rhône Poulenc, from 1983 to 1990. He was Chairman of the Board of Management of Quelle AG from 1991 to 1994 and joined DaimlerChrysler AG as a Member of the Board of Management in 1995.
As a member of the DaimlerChrysler AG Board of Management from 1995 to 2003, Klaus Mangold was responsible for DaimlerChrysler AG's Services division and its Central and Eastern European markets. At the same time, he was CEO of DaimlerChrysler Services AG.
Klaus Mangold is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of TUI AG, Germany, and member of a number of Supervisory and Advisory Boards, including those of Alstom S.A., France, Ernst & Young, United States, and Continental AG, Germany. He also is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Rothschild GmbH, Frankfurt and Chairman of the “Mangold Consulting GmbH”, which was founded in 2003. From 2000 until 2010 he was Chairman of the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations of German Industry. He is Commander of the Legion of Honour (France) and Professor of the European Business School, Schloss Reichartshausen.

Michael Kleinemeier

Member of the Executive Board, Digital Business Services, SAP SE

Michael Kleinemeier is a member of the SAP Executive Board of SAP SE. He leads the Digital Business Services organization. He was appointed to the Executive Board on November 1, 2015. In this role he is responsible for driving software adoption, ensuring customers implement and run what they buy whilst safeguarding maintenance and subscription.
Kleinemeier has held various leadership positions at SAP. In 2013, he was appointed President of the region Middle and Eastern Europe (MEE), where he was responsible for all market activities and the entire SAP product portfolio in this region.
In 2012, he was Head of Global End-to-End Services. In this capacity, Kleinemeier was responsible for driving sales and market adoption of SAP’s latest solutions. In parallel, he served as President of the DACH Region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) from 2010 - 2012.
In 2007, Kleinemeier was appointed Head of Industry Solutions and Corporate Officer of SAP. From 2001 to 2007, he was Managing Director of SAP Deutschland. During that time, he was also President of the former EMEA Central (DACH and the Benelux countries) sales region. From 1989 to 1999, he held key positions in sales, consulting, and training at SAP.
Kleinemeier holds a degree in commercial management from the University of Paderborn.

Alexey Mordashov

Chairman of the Board of Directors, Severstal

Born in 1965, Alexey Mordashov has been working for Severstal since 1988. He started his career as a senior economist, becoming Chief Financial Officer in 1992. In December 1996, he was appointed as Severstal’s Chief Executive Officer. Between 2002 and 2006 he served as CEO of Severstal Group and was Chairman of Severstal’s Board of Directors. Since the introduction of the new structure of corporate governance in December 2006 Mr. Mordashov has been CEO of Severstal. From December 2014 till June 2015 Alexey served as CEO of AO "Severstal Management" - managing organization of PAO Severstal. In May he was elected as Chairman of Severstal’s Board of Directors.
Vice-Chairman of World Steel Association. Head of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs’ Committee on Integration, Trade and Customs Policy and WTO. Dmitriy Pumpyanskiy

Russian businessman, born in 1964, graduated from Kirov Urals Polytechnic Institute in 1986. PhD in Technical Sciences, Doctor of Economics. Authored 4 monographs and over 70 scientific papers.
Heading TMK since 2002, Chairman of the Board of Directors at TMK and Sinara Group since 2005. Formerly held key positions at various Russian metal and pipe companies.
Member of the Management Board of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, member of the Management Board of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, president of Non-Profit Partnership Russian Steel, Сhairman of the Supervisory Committee of Ural Federal University, Board member at Worldsteel and Industry Development Fund.
Mr. Pumpyanskiy was awarded a second class Medal of the Order for Merit to the Fatherland, a forth class Order for Merit to the Fatherland and Order of Honour, is a Russian Government prize winner in Science and Technology, was conferred an Honorary Metallurgist title.

Niels Hessmann

General Director, Bayer; General Representative, Russia and CIS, Bayer

Niels Hessmann is the Managing Director of Bayer JSC and Senior Bayer Representative in Russia and CIS since March 1, 2015.
Niels Hessmann was born in Belgium and studied applied economic sciences at the University of Antwerp, Belgium. He began his career as a Market Research Manager in Schering (now Bayer) in Belgium in 1992.
In 1996, he headed the Marketing and Sales Department of Schering Romania and Moldova.
In 1999, he became the Managing Director of Schering Kazakhstan and was responsible for the company development in Central Asia.
In 2001, he was appointed the Managing Director of Schering Greece. In 2007, he headed Bayer Netherlands and was Bayer Healthcare Representative. During that period, Mr. Hessmann was also responsible for merging Bayer and Schering.
From November 2011 to February 2015, he was the Managing Director and Country Division Head Bayer HealthCare in South-Korea.
