The Terracotta Army. China’s Immortal Warriors
St. Petersburg’s Historical Park ‘Russia – My History’ (32, Basseynaya Ulitsa) opened a unique exhibition entitled ‘The Terracotta Army. China’s Immortal Warriors’.

Previously, the exhibition was a success at VDNH in Moscow, attended by more than 80,000 people.

The exhibition is based on a 20th-century archaeological sensation: the clay army of the Chinese Emperor Qin Shi Huang, who ruled in the 3rd century B.C. The Terracotta Army is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and can with good reason be considered the eighth wonder of the world.

Visitors will get to see life-size replicas of terracotta warriors and horses, chariots, weapons, everyday objects and colourful historical costumes – a total of over 150 exhibits.

Impressive special effects and video projections will immerse visitors in the mystical atmosphere of the distant past and give a real sense of the scale of the grand army.

Imaginary Journeys
What’s more impressive: rapid technological growth or deep cultural traditions going far back in time? The United Arab Emirates is an astonishing country, showing by example the speed of progress and innovation. Russia, on the other hand, is a country with centuries-old traditions. The culture and beauty of the two countries is different, but do they have anything in common?
SPIEF participants will have the opportunity to reflect on this at the Imaginary Journeys exhibition, held by the ROSPHOTO State Museum and Exhibition Centre and the DEFENCE law firm, with support of the Roscongress Foundation.

Please write in advance to book your exhibition and present your badge upon arrival email: info@tm-defence.com

Address: ROSPHOTO Museum and Exhibition Centre at 35, Bolshaya Morskaya Ulitsa.

Music Samizdat
KGallery presents an exhibition dedicated to that amazing and obscure phenomenon of the Soviet era: music ‘samizdat’ (literally self-publishing). Along with the famous "rock 'n' roll on the ribs", a vast collection of reel-to-reel cassettes created by Soviet music lovers will be shown for the first time.
The world of samizdat as a social phenomenon existed within the realities of the Soviet era for fifty years. Music tastes and their mediums have changed, but despite prohibition and censorship, the desire to listen to music and embrace culture never changed. The illustrated vinyl covers, collaged packages of reel cassettes, posters, postcards and X-rays are an indispensable testament to this.
A programme of concerts, lectures, art breakfasts, workshops for adults and children, and themed merchandise is being prepared for the exhibition.

Gala opening on 16 June.
