SPIEF 2024 Business Programme Architecture Published

“The foundation of multipolarity is the formation of new growth centres” has been chosen as the main theme of the 27th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

“The Forum is a truly significant event. Held at the highest level, it is of particular importance for the development of the country since it helps establish and maintain the relations with foreign partners on a mutually beneficial basis and in accordance with the principles of a multipolar world.

Today, the Forum’s work is more important than ever. We live in an era of tectonic changes: the technological mode is changing, and the system of international relations is transforming. Over the past year, the international crisis of trust has only intensified. Under these circumstances it is especially important to maintain an equitable constructive dialogue between business communities from different parts of the world, said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the SPIEF Organizing Committee.

The main business programme of SPIEF 2024 is divided into 4 thematic blocks that correspond to the Forum’s main mission, which is to maintain the global balance of power and build a multipolar international system, ensuring conditions for development on the basis of a unifying and constructive agenda dictated by the national interests of the Russian Federation.

The track “Transition to a Multipolar World Economy” will include sessions and panel discussions on the effectiveness of preserving the economic, industrial and energy sovereignty of countries.

The second thematic block of the business programme entitled “Goals and Objectives of Russia’s New Economic Cycle” is dedicated to the key drivers of economic growth. Experts will discuss the issues of ensuring sustainable development through the use of internal, ‘hidden’ resources: the development of promising territories, tourism, infrastructure, efficient subsoil use, creative industries and small technology companies.

“Technologies Ensuring Leadership is the third thematic block of the Forum’s events, which will include sessions and business meetings to discuss strategic issues of digital technology development in all sectors of the economy: from public administration and data security to the digitalization of industrial production and the agricultural sector.

A separate track is dedicated to social issues. Entitled “Healthy Society, Traditional Values and Social Development: The Priority of the State”, it will discuss the influence of art on a person, investment in demography, education, culture and sports, that combined can help achieve economic development goals. Participants in the business sessions will also touch upon social topics such as support for large families and veterans, and the impact of charitable organizations and volunteering on the economy.

Eleven bilateral business events in the format of business dialogues with foreign partners from Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Africa, Venezuela, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Oman, as well as EAEU–ASEAN meetings are planned to discuss global and pressing issues of international cooperation in 2024.

In addition, the international track will include the Business 20 (B20) Regional Consultative Forum, an event that brings together the work of international business associations and events highlighting the prospects for business cooperation within the SCO.

There will also be sessions dedicated to the Russian Federation’s chairmanship of BRICS and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

In addition to the main business programme, SPIEF will discuss social topics in the context of sustainable development. For example, the opening day is traditionally devoted to international co-operation between SMEs.

In addition, social issues related to improving the availability and quality of medical care, developing education and science, creating favourable conditions for business development and ensuring equal opportunities in the labour market, as well as addressing demographic development will be addressed at the Drug Security Forum, Creative Business Forum, Russian Design Space and Urban Hub, as well as the traditional International Youth Economic Forum, which will be held on the final day of SPIEF 2024.

Media registration will continue until 1 May on the official SPIEF website: forumspb.com/en/registration/media.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will be held from 5 to 8 June 2024.
