Putin Invite German Business to Participate in International Economic Events Held in Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with representatives of the German business community at the Bocharov Ruchey residence in Sochi. The meeting was attended by CEOs from leading Russian and German companies as well as representatives of the Russian Government.

The meeting focused on prospects for developing Russian-German relations in trade and economics, in particular such areas as the supply of equipment, railway and agricultural machinery, retail, and energy.

Putin expressed an interest in making foreign businessmen, including those from Germany, feel as comfortable as possible on the Russian market and assured the meeting participants that Russia was taking measures to improve the business and investment climate. In particular, much work is being done to lift administrative barriers and ensure an optimal tax burden on business, Putin said.

During the meeting, Putin invited representatives of the German business community to take part in the major international economic events that are held in Russia, such as the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and the Eastern Economic Forum, among others.
