Catching investment: regional economic development to be discussed in Astrakhan
Astrakhan on 13 September 2017 will host a visiting session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum ‘Russia’s Regions: New Areas of Growth. Investment in the Real Sector’ in the Southern Federal District, which is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation jointly with the Russian Export Center, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, and Russian News Agency TASS. The session continues a cycle of events that aim to expand investment opportunities, develop the export potential of the regions, and promote specific territories.
The main discussion theme will be attracting investment to the real sector of the economy. Russia has currently established institutions and mechanisms to support industrial development – from attracting funding as well as searching for and implementing technological solutions to helping find sales markets in the country and abroad. However, there is rarely any talk about the utilization of these decisions and their implementation. Special attention will be paid to developing an open common communication platform used to collect and present information about state support measures for business.
