Programme

The Business Twenty (B20), a social partner of the Group of Twenty (G20) representing the interests of business, is drafting specific consensus-based proposals for G20 leaders that aim to shape global policies to overcome the key challenges of our times. The B20 Regional Consultation Forum is a joint event hosted by the Japan Federation of Economic Organizations (Keidanren), which holds the chairmanship of the B20 in 2019, and the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP). Japan’s chairmanship of the B20 has prioritized creating ‘Society 5.0’, a concept developed with the active involvement of business based on the integrated introduction of digital technologies such as the Internet of Things, 5G mobile communication systems, big data, artificial intelligence, robotics, and blockchain with all spheres of society, business, and the government, including public administration, industrial structure, and employment. The heads of major corporations and business associations, senior representatives of G20 countries as well as leaders of international organizations will discuss the B20 proposals for G20 leaders, including the corporate priorities and measures for creating ‘Society 5.0’.

Born in 1957.
Graduated with honors from the faculty of automation and computer engineering of the Moscow Railway Transport Engineering Institute (MIIT).
In 1990 Viktor Vekselberg founded Renova, an asset management company. Mr. Vekselberg currently holds office as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Renova Group of companies.
In 1996 he founded SUAL Group and served as its President until 2003 when he eventually chaired the Board of Directors of the Group.
Chairman of the Management Board of OJSC Tumen Oil Company from 2002 until 2003. Member of the Board of Directors of TNK-BP from 2003 until 2013.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of United Company Rusal (UC Rusal) from 2007 until March 2012.
In March 2010, Viktor Vekselberg was appointed as Head of the Skolkovo Innovation Center project. Viktor Vekselberg has been President of the Skolkovo Foundation since June 2010.

Irina Bokova

Irina Bokova graduated with a degree in International Relations from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) in 1976. In 1989 she was a Ford Foundation Fellow at the University of Maryland School of Public Affairs and in 1999 completed an executive program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. She has held positions such as Bulgaria's first Secretary of State for European Integration, Foreign Minister of Bulgaria a.i., twice an MP, Ambassador of Bulgaria to France and Monaco, and the Permanent Representative of the republic of Bulgaria to UNESCO. Irina Bokova also contributed to the new Bulgarian Constitution in 1991.
Irina Bokova was the Director-General of UNESCO for two four-year terms (2009 - 2017). She was the first woman and the first Eastern European leader of the Organisation.
She has received state honors from many countries and honorary doctorate from a number of universities, among them MGIMO, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow State University.

Hemant Kanoria

Chairman, Managing Director, Srei Infrastructure Finance Limited

A pioneer in the field of infrastructure, Hemant Kanoria has reshaped India's infrastructure landscape with innovative ideas and a strong passion for excellence. "Srei" was conceptualised in 1989 as an initiative marking the entry of private sector in the field of infrastructure, a domain hitherto restricted to public sector. In the last two decades, Srei has been developed into one of India's largest holistic infrastructure institutions with an asset base of around USD 5.5 billion. Hemant's contribution towards inclusive infrastructure development in India has been non-pareil. He is a visionary and a strategist who always believes in offering simple solutions to complex problems. Many of his ideas were first of its kind and created new business sectors. He is known in the country for having unleashed a new wave of rural entrepreneurship. He is also the Trustee of the Kanoria Foundation which, under its umbrella, has entities with a total asset base of about USD 10 billion. The group is at the vanguard of thought leadership in the country, especially in the area of infrastructure development and financing. Hemant has over three decades of experience in industry, trade and financial services. He is currently serving as Board Member in the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Guwahati, Neotia University and New Delhi Institute of Management. He has held several prestigious positions like President of Calcutta Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the FICCI National Committee on Infrastructure and served on the Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM-C) besides being a Member of the Regional Direct Taxes Advisory Committee, Government of India.

Ian Colebourne

Ian is the CEO of Deloitte CIS. During his 20-year career, he has built an impressive record of success through a variety of roles including establishing the leading Forensic practice in the CIS, heading the Risk Consulting business and Chairing the EMEA Forensic Group at another Big Four firm. He joined Deloitte in 2012 to lead the Financial Advisory Services practice.Ian has cross-disciplinary experience, having led a number of investigations, corporate intelligence and fraud risk management assignments. He also has experience of financial sector regulatory reviews, and has conducted numerous FCPA investigations, compliance reviews and due diligence assessments for International investors across the CIS. Ian holds a BSc degree in Biological Science from Birmingham University (UK) where he also completed the Legal Practice Course, passing it with Commendation, and qualified as a Solicitor.

Svetlana Lukash

Deputy Head, Expert Department of the President of the Russian Federation; Russian G20 Sherpa

Russian G20 Sherpa and Deputy Chief of Presidential Experts' Directorate. Svetlana Lukash was born on 20 March 1977. Graduating in 1999 from the Russian State University for Humanities she continued post-graduate studies in the Institute for Social and Political Research, Russian Academy of Sciences. She started her career in the Federal Energy Commission of Russia; then worked for Russian consulting companies, media holding 'Expert' and the Expert Council on Russia's G8 Presidency in 2006, until in 2007 she joined Presidential Executive Office to cover broad set of issues of global agenda, including G8 and G20, as well as national climate and environment policy. Six years as head of the Russian G8 sherpa office and G20 sous-sherpa turned to be indispensable benefit for developing and running the program of the Russian G20 Presidency in 2013, which she had finished in a Sherpa's position. By now Ms Lukash had managed substantive preparation of 11 G20 summits, having witnessed evolution of G20 since its inception at the leaders’ level.

Ms. Renata Hornung-Draus is the Managing Director of BDA, the Confederation of German Employers’ Associations, President of BUSINESSEUROPE’s Employment Committee and an active participant of the B20.
She currently serves as member of the Governing Body of the ILO, Employer-Vice Chairperson of the ILO’s Subcommittee on Multinational Enterprises and Chairperson of the IOE Working Party on Corporate Social Responsibility of the International Organisation of Employers (IOE), Geneva.
Previously, she was the Vice-President of the Employers’ Group of the European Economic and Social Committee, Brussels (1996 – 2006).
Ms. Hornung-Draus is member of the German Industrial Relations Association, member of the Board of the “Institut für Arbeitsrecht und Arbeitsbeziehungen in der Europäischen Gemeinschaft (IAAEG)”, as well as member of the Advisory Board of the Birmingham Business School, Great Britain.

Andreas Schaal

Director of Global Relations Secretariat, Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD)

Andreas Schaal is the Director of OECD Global Relations. In this function he leads and coordinates on ministerial level the external policy and relations of the OECD with over 100 partner countries around the globe aiming to make OECD standards and policies count on a global scale and, thus, contributing to a global level playing field. His expertise includes two decades of conceptional and strategic work on foreign affairs, national, international and global economic policy and global governance. In this capacity, he is responsible for the OECD’s relations with Brazil, China, India, Indonesia and South Africa as well as with the following growing regions, Southeast Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, South East Europe, Central Asia and Middle East and North Africa (MENA). He supports the Secretary- General’s objectives for a regionally inclusive and globally relevant organisation. In his management functions as Director of the OECD Global Relations Secretariat, he oversees and manages a team of 110 staff and a budget of 24 million Euros.

Alexander N. Shokhin was born 25 December, 1951. Graduated from the Moscow State University in 1974. Doctor of Economics, Professor. Twice, in 1991-1994 and in 1998, Mr. Shokhin held the post of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. In 1991-1994 he also held positions of Minister of Labor, Minister of Economics, Chairman of the Russian Agency for International Cooperation and Development. From 1994 to 2002 – Deputy of the State Duma, with the posts of First Vice Chairman of the State Duma, leader of the Duma party bloc 'Our Home is Russia', Head of the Duma Committee on Credit Institutions and Capital Markets. Since 1995 - President of the National Research University – Higher School of Economics. From 2002 to 2006 – Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Investment Group "Renaissance Capital". From 2005 to 2009 – member of the RF Public Chamber. Since 2005 – President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. Mr. Shokhin is a member of several deliberative bodies under the Russian President and Government.
