RUSSIA – INDIA BUSINESS DIALOGUE

Russia and India have long-standing and fruitful strategic commercial relations, encompassing a wide range of economic, scientific and technical matters, and has been an important element to fostering the development of high tech and innovation in both countries. The objectives laid out in India’s long-term development strategy ‘India: Vision 2020’ and Russia’s ‘Strategy 2020’, combined with the economic modernization goals set by Russia, provide an important framework on which to expand joint R&D and technology development.
This roundtable discussion will address a range of policy measures aimed at strengthening existing trade and economic collaboration, particularly in support of fostering innovation.

1) What existing and new tools can be applied to increase the volume of bilateral trade and to advance economic cooperation between Russia and India? What are the obstacles?
2) What should be done to improve the exchange of commercial information between the two countries?
3) What are the best ways to promote joint innovation projects, and to take commercial advantage of the scientific research and technological advances made in both countries?
