Technologies of the Future: When They’re Needed, It’s Already Too Late

16 Jun , 12:00–13:00
Building Technological Sovereignty
Pavilion G, conference hall G2

Science is currently on the verge of new achievements that will shape the technological image of the future: nanobiotechnology, genome and gene engineering, molecular robotics, quantum and neuromorphic computers, big data technologies, self-driving vehicles and much, much more. Further advances in any of these areas will bring about revolutionary changes in industry and quality of life, a fact understood by both nation states and major companies investing tens of billions of dollars each year in the development of new “emerging” technologies. Over the last 20 years, the number of businesses with scientific divisions has increased by one and a half times in Russia. How can we incentivize Russian entrepreneurs to invest in future technologies? What could the next nuclear or space project be? And how can a scientist or a tech entrepreneur become a hero of this new time?
