The dizzying pace at which private and public-sector entities are mastering technical innovations and implementing new IT platforms means that there is a possibility that we will see a fundamental transformation of both work and society. However, the planned level of efficiency and innovation will be unattainable if the level of education and qualifications of tomorrow’s workers are insufficient to ensure such rapid progress. It is expected that by 2025 there will be a deficit of more than 10 million qualified, highly skilled professionals in Russia. The need to address the imbalances in the labour market is becoming pressing. What steps should be taken in education and training to better prepare students for work amid continuous and rapid technical changes? What kinds of skills will workers need in the future? What can educational institutions do to adapt their programmes to the new requirements?

Senior Partner, Managing Director, Chairman in Russia, The Boston Consulting Group

Vladislav Boutenko joined BCG in 1999 and has since spent time at the company’s offices in Paris, San Francisco and Moscow. He has provided consulting services to the management of several Fortune 500 companies. Mr Boutenko is the co-director of the company’s Intellectual Property division and also oversees the Russian Education, Organisation and Human Capital practice. Before joining BCG, Vladislav worked at General Electric Healthcare (GE), where he was in charge of introducing digital technologies in medical diagnostics devices. At GE, Mr Boutenko became the first holder of the Six Sigma Black Belt in the R&D department and co-developed the Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodology for the effective innovation. He has registered ten inventions in the United States and Europe. In 2013, Mr Boutenko was elected First Vice President of the Russian Book Union (RBU) and Chairman of the Board of the RBU “Education” Chamber. Mr Boutenko graduated with honours from the Faculty of Optoelectronics of Moscow State Institute of Radio Engineering, Electronics and Automation and also obtained a Master’s degree in mathematics from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications in Paris, where he was a French government scholar.

Dirk Ahlborn

Dirk Ahlborn is a German-born entrepreneur. In the 1990s he founded several companies in the alternative energy and interior design sphere. He co-founded and became CEO of Jumpstarter in 2013, the company that developed the crowdsourcing platform JumpStartFund in El Segundo, California. He is also the CEO of Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, a project initiated and incubated using JumpstartFund's crowd collaboration process.
Dirk Ahlborn is known worldwide for his outside-the- box approach to giving paradigm-shifting businesses life, leveraging the full power of crowd-collaboration, the Internet, and exponential technologies at the vanguard of the global sharing economy. Dirk Ahlborn’s two decades as a serial entrepreneur serve him well as CEO of Hyperloop Transportation Technologies. As CEO and Founder of JumpStarter, Inc., a California-based, crowd-powered online business incubator.
Mr. Ahlborn used JumpStartFund’s crowdfunding and crowd collaboration platform to greatest effect in co-founding HyperloopTT, considered to be the largest and most successful crowd-sourced startup in history.

Pekka Viljakainen

Mr. Pekka A. Viljakainen was born in Finland 1972. He studied engineering at the University of Technology in Lappeenranta. For 25 years worked as an ambassador between business executives and technology teams. He started as an entrepreneur in 1986, by establishing Oy Visual Systems Ltd. (1986-2004). His company was merged with TietoEnator in 2000. Mr. Viljakainen is widely known by his nickname, Bulldozer. The nickname was earned by his reputation and track record for handling very complex governance and political topics inside large international organizations. During his corporate carrier he acted as trusted advisor for CEO’s and chairman’s specializing for the transformation related to enterprise digitalization and HR.
After 26 years of his active Visual Systems-Tieto carrier, he left from operative roles on 2011 and focused to his non-profit leadership education project called www.nofear-community.com . Because of this he has been visiting speaker and advisor for several international corporations and faculties (like IMD Business School).
Since 2012 Mr Viljakainen is acting as senior advisor for the president of Skolkovo Foundation. Since that among other directions of work, he has been acting as a founder and advisor for several nationwide entrepreneurship programs in Russian Federation. Startup Tour Open Innovations 2013-2018 (over 85 cities of Russia and CIS) and international conference Startup Village 2013-2018. During those programs he has build a strong network of entrepreneurs, local governmental institutions as well as universities across Russia and abroad.
Mr Viljakainen is the member of Strategic Board of the Russian Postal Service and member of the Supervisory Board of PAO “Pochta Bank”. Chairman of the Board of ‘’Skolkovo – Venture Investments’’, Chairman of the Board “ZYFRA”.

Valery Katkalo

Rector, Sberbank Corporate University

Professor Katkalo (born in 1964) received undergraduate (with distinction) and Doctoral degrees in Economics from St. Petersburg University, and did post-doctoral studies at Haas School of Business, University of California (Berkeley). He was visiting scholar at several top European business schools. Professor Katkalo was one of the founders (1993) of the Graduate School of Management at SPbU, which he directed as GSOM Dean since 1997 and later as SPbU Vice Rector until 2012. Under his leadership GSOM became the first and the only Russian business school to receive EQUIS accreditation and to become CEMS and PIM member; the school has also received AMBA and EPAS accreditations. He joined Sberbank Group in December 2012 as Director of Sberbank Corporate University, 100%-owned subsidiary of this largest bank in Russia and Eastern Europe which now aims to become a top global financial institution.
Professor Katkalo taught at business schools in USA, France, and Finland. His research focuses on evolution of strategic management theory, network organizations, advances in management education, and was published in 6 books and in international (e.g. Industrial and Corporate Change, Journal of Institutional and Theoretical Economics) and Russian refereed journals.
Professor Katkalo is the Chairman of the EPAS Accreditation Board, and serves on the EFMD Board of Trustees and on Advisory Boards for HEC Paris, WU-Vienna University of Economics and Business, and Higher School of Economics, Moscow. He is the member of the Board of Directors for JSC Transneft. He consulted on creation and development of business schools in Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, and Bosnia.

Mr. Shiv Khemka was educated at Eton College, received a B.A. from Brown University, an M.B.A. with distinction from The Wharton School and a Master’s in International Studies from The Lauder Institute, University of Pennsylvania. Vladimir Mau

Vladimir Mau is Doctor of Economics, Professor, PhD, Honored Economist of the Russian Federation. Born on 29 December 1959 in Moscow, he graduated from the Moscow Institute of National Economy in 1981.
Since 1991 he participated in the development and implementation of economic reforms in Russia, including working as Advisor to the Chairman of the Russian Government from 1992-1993.
From 1997-2002 Mau was the Head of the Working Center for Economic Reforms of the Russian Government. In 2002, he became the Rector of the Academy of National Economy of the Russian Government, and in 2010 the Rector of the newly formed the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.
Rector Mau is a renowned expert in the field of economic theory, the history of economic thought and national economy. He is the author of 25 monographs, books and textbooks published in Russia and the UK, as well as more than 600 other works. The main results of his research focus on economic history and the history of economic thought in Russia and the USSR; the theory and history of economic policy; economic transformation and economic reforms.
Rector Mau is a member of Economic Council of the President of Russian Federation. He is and also a chairman of the Expert Board under the Government Commission for Economic Development and Integration, and member of several governmental commissions and committees.
