Concurrent with the conference business programme, two Russian–European roundtables will be held as part of the Third Russian Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Forum:

2. Roundtable: Developing the Export Activities of Russian and Finnish SMEs

PROGRAMME

The goal of this international conference is to promote the development of economic cooperation on the territory from Lisbon to Vladivostok, strengthen joint activities in the megaregion, and solidify interaction between the European Union and Eurasian Economic Union, including at the level of the European Union and the Russian Federation, as well as bilateral ties between member nations of both unions. Contacts need to be stepped up in the megaregion to achieve this goal with expanded trade, increased investment, and the creation of common spaces on the financial and labour markets all playing a key role in this process.

The conference was initiated by the parties to the Moscow Memorandum on Cooperation and Joint Activities in the Megaregion ‘From Lisbon to Vladivostok’, signed in March 2016 by the Roscongress Foundation, SCHNEIDER GROUP, Banca Intesa, and Thomas Vendome Investment.

Session 1. Creating a Common Economic Space. Challenges and Solutions

The creation of a common economic space dictates a series of conditions for enhancing trade and economic ties, including:

  • synchronizing technical regulation standards (including customs rules)
  • establishing a single market for finance and investment
  • creating a free trade zone
  • simplifying the movement of labour
  • developing transport infrastructure
