In compliance with the protocol of the meeting of the Organizing Committee of the X St. Petersburg International Economic Forum from August 8, 2006, No. 41-GG, the proposal was approved that had been put forward by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development on the establishment of a not-for-profit St. Petersburg Economic Forum Foundation to coordinate activities for arranging and running the Forum.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum Foundation officially commenced activities on March 12, 2007.
The Foundation was created to attain the following objectives:

Organizing and holding the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and other economic forums, round tables, conferences, seminars, business meetings, presentations and exhibitions

Enhancing the efficiency of implementation of the economic policies of the Russian Federation

Improving the international image of the Russian Federation

Establishing conditions for effective international cooperation between business and political elites of Russia and other countries.
The Foundation collaborates with government bodies to develop a plan of events in preparation for, and running of, the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The Foundation coordinates the activities of the working groups that — make arrangements for the Forum programme; delegate manage the Forum participants; prepare the Forum site; arrange PR and information support for the Forum; manage logistics; transport; accommodation; catering; provide security at the Forum; prepare and organize the Forum exhibitions; put together a cultural programme for the Forum. The Foundation coordinates participants — provides information support, support services (transport, hotel accommodation), performs participant accreditation. The Foundation coordinates the funding of Forum events. The Foundation selects contractors to perform works.
The Director of the Foundation is Alexander Stuglev.
